I really enjoyed this book. Fiction with a sense of reality. The author made you feel how the the main character dealt with loss and finding a new purpose. Quite inspirational. It was fun getting to know the characters and feeling some of the same emotions as the main character had towards her kids and others. I really got into the story and couldn't wait to see what happened in each chapter, made me laugh and cry. And of course I loved the cover of the book too - love the fall colors and the country road. Very nice touch.
A very captivating book. It has your attention from the beginning. The author draws you into each chapter as if you were actually there. A very enjoyable book to read. Pat B.
Having lived in S. Illinois I found it special hearing the names of towns I knew well and relating with the customs of family life with relatives. The writing was descriptive; you could see and feel what the characters were going through. Because of the evolving mystery, it became a page turner!
This book was recommended to me by a friend of the author. I loved it from the beginning. Heartache, faith, family and hope are all wrapped up together in this easy reading novel. The locale was familiar to me which made the read even more interesting. Hoping to see more from Carolyn in the future. Such an inspiring book.
Found this book to be one that was hard to put down. The author uses areas that are real even if the book is fiction and because I am familiar with these locations, I feel really connected to the characters. Knowing what grief can do to individuals, I feel empathy with DK.
